 Liquor Store, Central KL, 2013. I thought this a superb shot of ordinary life, so I went back to re-photograph it in 2014, and to have a beer there. A guy in the place became very angry when I took a photo, and made quite an unpleasant fuss, so I didn't get a good photo, or a beer. |

 I used monochrome to suggest that this aspect of KL relates to a by-gone era. Then I want the viewer to say to himself, "No, this is 2014". Hopefully, it emphasises that all people in KL are not young people with new cars, (cameras), with good jobs & salaries. Actually this woman looked very clean and well dressed, and not desperately poor. I would have preferred to have photographed some-one who was having seriously hard-times, it would have made my point more strongly. |
