| At the Golden Temple the Sikhs were extremely hospitable. Two or three rooms in "The Golden Hotel" were set aside for western travellers. The Golden Temple had kitchens for feeding the Sikh pilgrims and they fed western travellers too, free! The food was dahl & chapatis or rice, and it was very good. The people were very friendly, I was escorted around, almost like royalty, and no one was trying to get money out of me. I can not sing their praises enough. |
